Efproxia Anna Cocaine

Efproxia "Anna" Cocaine, 86, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8 in Tockwotton Nursing Home, Providence, RI.
She leaves two sisters, Joanne Vasiliou of Pawtucket, RI and Demetra Demou of Seekonk, MA and several nieces and nephews, among them, Tina Cocaine of Worcester, Nicholas Demou of Seekonk,MA William Peppes of Lincoln, RI and Stacey Aguiar of Rehoboth, MA. Two brothers, the former Worcester Telegram and Gazette photographers George Cocaine and Charles Cocaine and two sisters, Mary Peppes and Angelina Cocaine predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Eva (George) Cocaine and graduated from Worcester High School of Commerce and Worcester Industrial Senior Institute.
Anna was the head secretary at Burncoat Senior High School and worked at Doherty Memorial High School and the Worcester High School of Commerce for 40 years, retiring in 1988. She was a lifelong member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was active in the Daughters of Penelope and the Helinic Arts. She was a member of the Friends of the Worcester Library, the Worcester Art Musuem, the Worcester Senior Center and the Wise Program. She was an avid swimmer and 50 year member of YMCA. She enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Central Mass. Veterans Shelter.
The Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 10 at 11 AM in Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A Visiting Hour will be held Friday, December 10 from 10 AM to the time of the service in the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St., Worcester, 01609.
