Charlton Elaine M. (Shea) Daubney 77, of King Rd., formerly of Uxbridge, died Sunday, September 7, at home after a long illness. She leaves her husband, of 57 years, Walter W. Daubney, three daughters, Diane L. Sullivan and Donna Bigelow both of Charlton, Barbara Karman of Shrewsbury; two sons, Richard Daubney of Naugatuck, CT. and James Daubney of Charlton; two sisters, Jacquline Kinney of Brookfield and Ann Hennigan of Worcester; three brothers, David Shea of Webster, James Shea of Millbury and Robert Shea of West Boylston; 14 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A brother, Richard Shea of Leicester, pre deceased her. She was born in Fitzwilliam, NH., daughter of Richard J. and Marion O. (Helie) Shea. She lived in Uxbridge for 28 years, moving to Charlton 30 years ago, where she co-owned and operated Applewood Campgrounds with her husband until she retired in 1998. Mrs. Daubney began her nursing career as a Cadet nurse, continuing her training at Worcester City School of Nursing. She graduated and worked at the Worcester City Hospital as head nurse on the accident ward for many years, retiring in 1978. She enjoyed camping, square dancing, knitting and her family. A funeral will be held Wednesday, September, 10, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 9 HAMMOND ST., WORCESTER, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 9, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
