Elisabeth (Caswell) Frye

Essex- Elisabeth (Caswell) Frye, 93, passed away Saturday morning, January 1, 2022, at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Chester F. and Elisabeth (Blanchard) Caswell. She attended Northfield School for Girls, Bancroft School, Smith College, and Katherine Gibbs School.
Mrs. Frye was a member of the Essex Planning Board. Elisabeth, known to many as Betty Jane or BJ, will be remembered for her quick wit, affinity for flowers and gardening, and her love and commitment to the town of Essex. Surviving her are seven grandchildren, Anna E. Frye of Denver, CO, Sam Sherwood of Ipswich, Lucy F. Frye of Beverly, Peter Sherwood Jr. of Philadelphia, PA , Jane A. Frye of Denver, CO, Minot A. Frye Jr. of Medford, and Tom Sherwood of Denver, CO. She was also the mother of the late Minot A. Frye and Lydia Sherwood. Contributions in Elisabeth's memory may be made to the Arnold Arboretum.

Funeral services will be held privately and are in the care of the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
