WORCESTER: Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Zolnowski) Belevick, 92, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026. Her husband of 52 years, Albin F. “Al” Belevick, Jr., passed away in 2010.
She is survived by her three children, Gregg K. Belevick and his wife Sarah “Sally” of Worcester, Allison Belevick of Leicester, and Claudia Jalowka and her husband Joseph of Broad Brook, CT; two grandsons, Alexander Jalowka and his wife Ashley, and Gregory Jalowka; several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Zolnowski, and her sister, Christine O’Brien and her husband Robert.
Betty was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph & Anna (Markowski) Zolnowski. She was a graduate of South High School, Class of 1951, and continued her education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in biology from Clark University; a Master of Natural Sciences Degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from UMASS Amherst. Betty started her career as a laboratory supervisor at Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology and then dedicated 29 years as a science teacher at North High School, retiring as the head of the Science Department. She was extremely proud of being a community member of the IACUC at Abbott Bioresearch Center. Among her pastimes, she enjoyed sewing, reading and cooking. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Calling hours will be held from 5 until 7PM on Thursday, July 9, in the Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, July 10, in Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
