WORCESTER-Elizabeth B. (Brown) Burguet, 95, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Knollwood Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of Jacques J. Burguet who passed away on June 17, 2001.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Dr. George C. Brown and Elinor (Havens) Brown and graduated from the Bancroft School and Bradford Jr. College.

Mrs. Burguet was a longtime and active member of First Unitarian Church of Worcester. She was a member and former board member of the Worcester Garden Club, Worcester Horticultural Society, Worcester Junior League, YWCA, Edward Street Daycare and Visiting Nurses Association. She was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Aid Society, the Worcester Art Museum and its member's council. Mrs. Burguet volunteered at the Higgins Armory Museum and Audio Journal.

She loved to travel and experienced many beautiful trips to Europe. Elizabeth had many dear friends in the Briarwood community with whom she enjoyed her weekly Bridge games and many social events.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Harris of Chatham and a sister, Ann O'Connell of Chatham. She was predeceased by her brother, Curtis H. Brown of Indiana.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Birches, Briarwood Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester in the West Boylston Room at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 15th. A private interment of ashes will be in Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Art Museum Library, 55 Salisbury St.
Worcester, Massachusetts 01609 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
