Elizabeth J. Markarian

Worcester-Elizabeth J. (Keoseian) Markarian, 92 passed away Monday, September 4 in the Rose Monahan Hospice home.

 

She leaves her beloved and devoted husband of 69 years, Charles Markarian, two sons, Charles J. Markarian of Hyannis and Richard S. Markarian of Worcester and his fiancé Diane and three grandchildren, Marissa Amick, Peter Markarian and Mitchell Markarian.  Great grandchildren, Blake, Briella, Maila, Gleason, and Elliana. A grandson Cameron Markarian, and two brothers Richard Keoseian and her twin brother Stephen Keoseian predeceased her.  She was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Der Gazarian) Keoseian of Armenian Genocide Survivors.  She graduated from Fitchburg High School.  

 

Elizabeth worked with her husband side by side in the family owned business Markarian Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Worcester. Betty (Elizabeth) enjoyed going to the casinos, vacations to Florida and the Islands and nights out to dinner with her friends.  She loved to cook, bake, and crochet.  She had a great sense of humor.  She was very generous, kind and giving.  She was loved by all and be truly missed.  She was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Savior, Woman’s Guild, and Daughters of Vartan. 

 

And it is with sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, VNA Hospice Care Nursing, for their kind, compassionate care.

 

At the request of the family a  private funeral will be held at the Armenian Church of Our Savior, and burial will be at Hope Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Savior, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609.
