WHITINSVILLE / WORCESTER - Emma C. (Norrman) Boivin, 85 a resident of Whitinsville for the past 20 years and formerly of Worcester, died peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Milford Regional Medical Center, with her loving family at her bedside.
Emma was born and raised in Worcester, one of 11 children to the late Sixten W. and Lilly V. (Sundberg) Norrman. She spent her childhood years on Grafton Hill and graduated from the former Commerce High School. Emma spent most of her life working for Olsen Manufacturing in Holden until retiring in 1994. As a wonderful "auntie", Emma loved spending time with her siblings and their children. This continued even following the deaths of her siblings. Her nieces, nephews and all their children remained extremely close with Emma. The memories of Emma visiting with the family and sharing her outgoing, positive personality and infectious laugh that filled the room she was in will forever remain with her family. She loved to read and travel, taking trips throughout the country with many of her siblings and especially her niece, Karen. She also enjoyed visiting the beach to sink her feet in the sand. And, Emma never said no to a trip to the casino.
Emma was predeceased by her 10 siblings. They include her six brothers, Walter, Carl, George, Helmer, John and Verner Norrman as well as her four sisters, Hilda, who died as an infant, Astrid Beaudreau, Florence Penny and Ruth Pajala. She will forever be missed by all her nieces and nephews, grand- nieces and grand-nephews and their children as well. Emma's family would like to thank the staff of the DaVita Dialysis Center in Worcester for their care and compassion during Emma's many visits there.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend as visiting hour on Wednesday, November 1st from 10- 11 a.m. at the LINDQUIST-LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. A prayer service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.
