WORCESTER-Eric Gakure Gatimu, the beloved son of Mukundi Gatimu of Nyeri Kenya and Lydia N Gakure of Worcester
Massachusetts
Eric was born on Oct 1st 1988 at Nairobi Kenya.
He was brother to Enid n Gatimu,Linda N Daniel,the late Ruth W Gatimu,Maina Gatimu and Kabui Gatimu.
He was grandson to late Mr and Mrs Albert Gatimu of Kambwe Nyeri and the late Mwalimu and Mrs Eliud Gakure of
TumuTumu. He was a cousin, Nephew and uncle to many.
Eric grew up to become an active, admirable and a jovial young child and his curiosity drove him into dismantling his toys trying to discover why some toys worked, most toys were found scattered all over the house without the tiny batteries that made them work.
At the age of four, Eric started nursery school at Nairobi Primary,.he schooled at Nairobi Primary up to class four and then transferred to Brookside Primary School in Karatina where he sat for his KCPE exams.
Eric's KCPE results were impressive, and he was therefore admitted to Moi Forces Academy for his secondary School Education.
During the school holidays, Eric frequently accompanied his Dad to the Kenya Railways Golf Club where his dad played Golf.
Eric developed a keen interest in game of golf. he worked hard to become one of the best junior golfers of his age.
His secondary school education and golfing activities were cut short when his parents decided to move him out of the country to pursue his studies in U.S.A, he thus moved to Worcester Massachusetts and joined Doherty High School in Worcester. After high school, he joined Quinsigamond Community college for his diploma, after which he started working with several construction and painting companies and doing his side hustles until the cruel hand of death snatched him on January 22 2023.
Eric loved God. He gave himself to all. He was a friend to all. He believed in Love.
John 4:16 and 21.
God is Love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God and God in him.
Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Rest in peace Eric till we meet again.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 4th from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private in Kenya.
