Evangeline "Vangie" D. (Lindberg) Levy, 74, of Worcester passed away Thursday, December 2 at UMASS Medical Center.
She leaves three children, Richard Levy and his fiancée, Melissa Culpepper of Tampa, FL, Roger Levy and his wife, Sarah of Worcester, and Rachel Warbet and her husband, Matthew of New City, NY and the lights of her life, her eight grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Olivia, Avery, Aiden, Talia, Carter and Hudson and several dear cousins. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Carl A. and Alice E. (Dickson) Lindberg and graduated from Commerce High School and later in her life, Salter School.
Vangie was an assisted living activity director for over 20 years at Tatnuck Park and Christopher Heights, retiring two years ago. She loved caring for the residents and had a selfless love for her job. Prior to that she worked for 15 years in the family business, State Tire King as a bookkeeper.
Vangie had a great love for nature. She enjoyed birdwatching and was a horticultural expert. She could identify any flower or bird and lovingly cared for dogs and cats throughout her life. She loved to cook for her family, especially on holidays and celebrations. Vangie had a keen appreciation for music. She sang in choruses since she was a child and the Melody Makers later in life, played the piano and harp. She was an avid Red Sox fan and lover of Cape Cod. Evangeline had a kind heart, was a loving and caring person and will be missed by her family and friends.
