WEST BOYLSTON-Evelyn Jefferson Lowell, 96, daughter of Paul E. and Franklyn (Banks) Jefferson, a 50-plus year resident of Goodale Street in West Boylston, passed away on June 3, 2015 in the Jewish Health Care Center, Worcester, MA. Her husband of 56 years, Albert C. Lowell, died in 1996. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Josephine E. Jefferson and Marion R. Jefferson. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene L. Nemeth of Worcester and her son, Brian J. Lowell of Beverly; her grandchildren, Brian J. Lowell II and his wife, Sahar of Northridge, CA, Jennifer A. Lowell of Simsbury, CT, and Jessica Lowell Lassonde and her husband Scott of Ashland; four great grand-daughters and one great-grandson; her daughter-in-law, Karen A. Lowell of Westborough; her step-sister Rita B. Clancy of Jefferson and many nieces and nephews.


Lynn graduated from Classical High School in Worcester and attended Becker Junior College. She retired from IBM in 1983. She had also been employed for many years at the former Wright Line in Worcester. A lively and feisty spirit, she was a devoted grandmother, who in retirement enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and bargain hunting.


She was a lifelong, proud member of Wesley United Methodist Church and its Dorcas Circle and Stephen Ministry and served in many volunteer capacities over the years including the Emblem Club, the Boylston Grange, Flotilla 1004 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the West Boylston Council on Aging. She was a longtime member of the Worcester Art Museum and the Worcester County Music Association. Lynn also volunteered for many years at the Oakdale Skilled Nursing Facility.


Her family is truly grateful for the loving care provided by the dedicated staff at the Jewish Health Care Center for the past seven years.


Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 211 Main St., Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements in the care of FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street.
