Evelyn Nickerson

Falmouth - Evelyn (Andersen) Nickerson, 92, died February 16, 2008 at the JML Care Center in Falmouth. She was the wife of the late Melville Nickerson to whom she was married for 62 years.

Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Alexander and Helga Andersen, she was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1933. She was a long-time member and active participant in the Harvard Street Norwegian Lutheran Church in Cambridge before moving from Lynn to Vermont with her husband in 1965. She lived in Rutland and Barre Vermont for 35 years before moving to Yarmouth in 2000. In 2003, she moved to Falmouth to be close to family.


Survivors include her sister, Harriet Messina of Yarmouth; her daughter, Diane Churchill of Cape Elizabeth Maine; and her son Brian Nickerson of Falmouth; four grandchildren, Christine, Tracey, Laurie and Chad; five great-grandchildren, Kaja, Grace, Jason, Madeline and Carson; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur A. Andersen.


The Funeral Services will be held Wed., Feb. 20 at 11 AM in the Community Covenant Church, 33 Lake St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
