Fatbardha (Bedo) Hysi, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16 surrounded by family and loved ones.
Her husband, Myfit Hysi predeceased her. She leaves two children, Mirela Sekuj and her husband, Gjergj of Worcester and Artan Hysi and his wife, Bendis of Spata, Greece; and two granddaughters, Virna Sekuj of New York, NY and Denise Hysi of Vienna, Austria. She was born in Tirana, Albania, daughter of Yzeir and Sheko (Xhelili) Bedo and graduated from Tirana University with a degree in linguistics.
Fatbardha was an economist in the medical field in Albania, before retiring. She came to the United States 20 years ago. She loved to travel and read. She also enjoyed knitting and making clothes for her family. She spoke several different languages including Russian and French. Fatbardha was a loving affectionate person, who loved socializing and laughing with her friends in Albania and here in Worcester. She also shared a special bond with her granddaughters, who she loved so much. She will be dearly missed by many people, all of whose lives she touched with her joy and love.
Visiting Hours are Wednesday, October 20 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle. Friends and Family will gather Thursday, October 21 at 10:30am at the funeral home to join in a procession to Hope Cemetery for a 11:30am Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to, Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire at www.alz.org/manh
