WORCESTER-Faustina A. (Tuttle) Holly-Lareau, 89, of 1029 Pleasant St. died Saturday, Feb. 26 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus after a long illness.
She leaves her husband, Clarence Lareau with whom she celebrated her 20th anniversary on Feb. 23rd; a son, Thomas W. Holly, Jr. of Worcester; a daughter, Paula and her husband Robert Donohue of Worcester; her six beloved stepchildren, Edward Lareau of Conway, Patricia and her husband Edward Healey of Worcester, William and his wife Jean Lareau of Easthampton, John and his wife Margaret Lareau of Granby, CT, Mary and her husband Kevin Moore of S. Deerfield and Elizabeth and her husband James Whitcomb of Northfield; a brother, Edwin and his wife Carol Tuttle of Windsor Locks, CT; a sister, Ruth Tuttle of Rye, NH; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Sherry Holly of Northborough, Trevor and his wife Geneva Hollyer of Prescott, AZ, Colin Donohue of Worcester and Tara and her husband Keith Nevins of Grafton; eighteen step-grandchildren, Michael Healey of Holden, Maj. Daniel Healey, USMC and his wife Sheila of Annapolis, MD, Thomas and his wife Lisa Healey of Auburn, John and his wife Lorrie Healey of Millbury, Maj. Edward Healey, Jr. USMC and his wife Lynn of San Mateo, CA, Alyssa Lareau of Philadelphia, PA, Evan Lareau of Easthampton, Liana Lareau of California, Neil and Keith Lareau both of Granby, CT, Deirdre and her husband Jaimey Hagar of Sunderland, Jamie Moore of S. Deerfield, Joshua Whitcomb of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., Katheryn and Jonathan Whitcomb both of Northfield, Robert Donohue, Jr. and Seamus Donohue both of Spencer and Jennifer and her husband Michael Bokis of N. Brookfield; 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her first husband of 37 years, Thomas W. Holly, Sr. died in 1977. Her stepmother, Helen (Murphy) Tuttle and a brother, Walton Tuttle predeceased her.
She was born in Framingham the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Lowther) Tuttle and graduated as a salutatorian from Upton High School and received her nursing degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation she worked at Memorial Hospital, Fairlawn Hospital where she was Supervisor of Recovery and also the Charge Nurse. She then worked at the Houghton Nursing Home where she was the Director of Nurses and then became the Director of the nursing home. Faustina also served as a volunteer nurse during WW II. Faustina was a founding member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and served as an Eucharistic Minister and was an active volunteer with many other activities within the church. She was a former member of the D.A.R. and loved to cook, sew, travel, read, play cards and spend time with her family.
The funeral will be Friday, March 4 from THE CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 MYRTLE ST. with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
