Our late brother, father, uncle and friend: Foster Oppong Nyarko was popularly called Oppong Kyekyeku, Mr. Chairman, Agya Foster, Wofa and many many more. All these names sincerely reflects how dearly Foster loved and touched people's lives.
Foster Oppong Nyarko was born at Akyem Asuom (Eastern Region of Ghana) by the late Opanyin Godfred Sampson Attah Nyarko and Madam Gladys Adutwumwaah Nkansah on the 22nd of June 1950.
He attended Akyem Asuom Presbyterian Primary and Middle School, completed to hold a "Middle School leaving Certificate." Then at at the age of 17 he travelled to the industrial city of Tema, got a job at the Ghana Textiles Manufacturing Company (GTMC) for five (5) years. During those tender years as a young and vibrant person he decided to be a nurse but it could not materialize. He therefore changed his dream line course to pursue a navigational career as a sailor. So, Foster moved out of Ghana to Cotonou-Benin and boarded a Greek merchandise ship to Athens, Greece.
He worked as a shipping crew member for some number of years. He then came back to Ghana at the age of 28 years, 1978. Then he traveled to the Roman soil of Rome-Italy. Fortunately for him, he found a job as a chef in a reputable Italian Medical surgeon household for a while. Foster moved to Naples (Napoli)-Southern Italy and worked some years and moved again to the North Industrialized city of Brescia.
Foster with compassion and brotherly love, assisted his junior brothers- Billings and Alexander to join him. Other cousins also followed suit to Italy. He then got married to Madam Joanna Owusu and had a bouncing baby boy: Oheneba Nana Foster Nyarko. Then in the year 2002 he moved here in the United States of America.
One thing about Foster is that wherever he goes, he carries his Presbyterian Church of Ghana identity to the end of his life. Not to forget his way of life, he was humble, law abiding, respectful, loving, easily to be approached, God fearing and Peaceful.
Foster Oppong Nyarko, May your soul rest in the Bosom of the Almighty God- Jehovah and in His memory resurrect you to life everlasting. You will forever stay in our heart. For none of us lives to herself, and no one dies to herself. For if we live, we live in the Lord; Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. Romans 14:7-8
