WEST BOYLSTON~Francis J. Cahill, 78, a devoted husband, father and "Papa" passed away after a brief illness on Friday, May 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 3,1946, in Worcester to his parents, William and Marcelle (Costa) Cahill.
After attending Boys Trade and Worcester Junior College, Francis proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. His career spanned nearly three decades at ADT Security before venturing out to establish his own business, Sentinel Security. Francis left an indelible mark on the security industry. His passion and commitment, of over 50 years, were evident throughout his professional journey.
Francis will be remembered for his infectious laugh, genuine kindness, and outgoing nature. He had a knack for making friends wherever he went and had a special love for music, particularly playing his harmonica, which he always had in hand. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing and was an active member at Wachusett Country Club.
He is survived and missed by many, especially his beloved wife and best friend, Sharon L. (Jernstrom) Cahill; daughters Elizabeth M. O'Brien and Michelle L. Doucimo; son Scott F. Cahill and wife, Cindy; grandchildren Kristina E. Harper and husband Jarrod, Kelsea S. O'Brien, Brianna E. Sifferlen and husband Ryan, Morgan V. Doucimo and Hunter A. Doucimo; great-grandchildren Audriana M. Cirilo, Carter D. Harper, and Dillon A Harper; brother Richard Cahill and wife Brenda; sister-in-law Sandra Allen; several nieces and nephews; as well as his faithful dog, Rusty.
Francis was predeceased by his parents William and Marcelle Cahill, and brothers William, Robert, and James Cahill.
Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Francis' life with visiting hours on Thursday, May 9th, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th at 11:00am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Burial will be held privately for the family.
In conclusion of an accomplished life that touched many hearts both professionally and personally, Francis will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Francis' name to the First Tee Massachusetts organization at www.firstteemass.org.
