Francis B. Dion

Francis Dion, a longtime West Boylston resident, passed away on December 26, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.

Fran was born in Fitchburg, the son of Frank and Florence (Miller) Dion, and grew up in Leominster. After graduating from Becker College and Clark University he went to work as an accountant at Foster Grant Corporation, where he worked for 35 years. Following his retirement from Foster Grant he spent ten years working part-time at Worcester State College.

Fran and his wife Joan moved to West Boylston in 1965 and became very involved in their community. Fran loved summers on Cape Cod, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with his wide circle of friends.

Fran leaves his daughter Lisa Akerson and her husband Mike of Sterling, and his three grandchildren Caroline, Michael, and Will. He was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 58 years Joan (Doyle) Dion, his parents Frank and Florence Dion, and his brother Lawrence Dion.

Funeral arrangements and burial at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester will be announced in Spring time, when conditions are safer for family and friends to gather to celebrate Francis's life. Arrangements in the care of Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street.
