Francis R. Senior

WORCESTER-Francis R. "Bud" Senior, 83, of Worcester died Tues., Jan. 15, at home surrounded by his family.His wife Eleanor Rita (Donahue) Senior died in 1989. He leaves five children, Richard F. Senior of Dennisport, Judith A. Finneran of Worcester, Janice M. Maliff of Oxford, Deborah J. Kader of Worcester and Robin E. and her husband Paul E. Murphy with whom he lived; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Patricia Cahill of Centerville and Marjorie Brainey of Oxford; lifelong friends, Bob and Pat McHugh and many nieces and nephews. A son, Timothy J. Senior; four brothers, George, Robert, John Jr., and Paul and three sisters, Dorothy, Kathleen and Marion, predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of John Chester Senior, Sr. and Julia F. (Keating) Senior and graduated from St. John's High School, class of 1943. At St. John's he was a member of the New England Catholic School Interscholastic Basketball Championship Team of 1943. Bud worked for Rudnick and Meagher Cold Storage for many years, before retiring and worked for 30 years at Pike O'Hara's Package Store in Greendale. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Div. %2336, Our Lady of the Rosary Church and was an avid sportsman. The family would like to give a special thank you to Karen his caregiver for all of her assistance.

The funeral will be held Fri., Jan. 18, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Thurs., Jan. 17, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
