WORCESTER – Frank M. Back, 80, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with COVID-19 at UMASS Medical Center on May 19, 2020.
Frank was born in Woodstock, CT, on March 11, 1940. He grew up in Southern Worcester County, was schooled in Dudley, and worked at Cranston Print Works in Webster.
Frank found meaning and purpose when he moved to Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester in 2016. His warm smile and engaging personality were regularly on display as he greeted the many friends and family members who were visiting their loved ones at Beaumont. He even landed the very important role of Raffle Ticket Director encouraging visitors to buy raffle tickets to support the Beaumont Resident Activity Fund. Frank's time and commitment to raising these funds benefited the lives of his fellow residents whom he considered family. He also was humbled by and grateful for the compassionate care he received from the staff at Beaumont, whom he also considered family.
A prayer/memorial will be held at Callahan Fay Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, June 12. Fr. John Madden of Saint John's Parish in Worcester will lead the ceremony. Donations may be made in Frank's memory and the memory of all those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 to the Beaumont Worcester Resident Activity Fund, 378 Plantation Street Worcester, MA 01605.
