CAPT. FRANK W. O'CONNOR, 71
Rochdale-Francis W. O'Connor, 71, of Rochdale passed away New Year's day at home.
He was a technician for 30 years for NITCO in charge of fixing and maintaining forklifts. But his true passion was fishing. Captain Frank operated Fish Finders Charter for 30 years out of the Bridge Marina in Salisbury. He held a USCG Masters 100 Ton License and was a member of the Northeast Charter Boat Captains Association and the National Association of Charter Boat Operators. He also had a love for repairing and building old antique cars in his spare time.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Pamela J. (Lindberg) O'Connor; his five children, Robert P. O'Connor and his wife, Julie Lavoie, William M. O'Connor and his wife, Kathy, and Barbara A. O'Connor. A son, John A. O'Connor passed away in 2015 and a son, David L. O'Connor passed away in 2013. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Sean, Amanda, Kim, Karly, Emily, Allison, Kaitlyn, Ciara, Amy, Armando, Heather and Michael; three siblings, Sandra L. Harris, Robert C. O'Connor and Roxanne Schofield; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Rettig; a foster son of 13 months, whom he loved dearly, Roman Ortiz; his inseparable Pug, Beans and nieces and nephews. Five siblings predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Robert and Mary (Chesna) O'Connor.
Visiting Hours will be held Friday, January 4 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Captain Frank will be held Saturday, January 5 in the Funeral Home at 10am. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greendale Peoples Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, 01606.
