West Boylston- G. "Ruth" Rawson, 96, passed away in her home on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 with her loving family by her side.
Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Flossie C. (Hines) and Orris J. Ayers on June 13th, 1927.
After graduating from Major Edwards High School in West Boylston, Ruth earned a degree as a Registered Nurse from Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, she worked her entire career at Hahnemann Hospital, mostly on the maternity ward for over 40 years. Ruth married the love of her life, Brad, in 1949 and resided in West Boylston. They built a home together in 1950 where they raised their three loving children. Ruth enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning vegetables, jams and jellies, etc. But most of all supporting and spending time with extended family. After retirement she and Brad enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Germany.
Ruth will be missed by many including her three children, Steven Rawson and his wife, Kathy, of Winchendon, Nancy (Rawson) Deitemeyer and her husband, Mark, of West Boylston, and Deborah (Rawson) Tannebring and her husband, Brad, of Pemaquid, ME; seven loving grandchildren, six precious great grandchildren, a loving goddaughter and close friend Joan Sjogren and family. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bradford in 2021 and her brother, W. Lewis Ayers of Charlton.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruth's life on Friday, April 5th with visiting from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Fay Brother's Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Church St., West Boylston.
