Gail Anne Murphy
February 16, 1947 — December 10, 2018
AUBURN-Gail A. (Mason) Murphy, 71, of Auburn passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 in her home.
She leaves her loving husband of 53 years, Denis J. Murphy; a daughter, Kim Kappler and her husband, Michael and their children, Christofer, Ryan and Kaitlyn of Broomfield, CO; a son, Tim Murphy and his daughter, Bryanna of Oakland, CA and a sister, Linda Smathers and her husband, Phil of Canton, NC. Gail was born in Worcester, daughter of Herbert and Carolyn (Bell) Mason and graduated from Auburn High School.
Gail worked as a loan officer for many years, retiring from the Great Western Mortgage Company in Braintree. She had a deep love of reading and her favorite subject was history. She also enjoyed her time spent with her girlfriends over a good cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Gail was a deeply spiritual person and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. The family would like to thank the staff at UMASS 7 ICU for the wonderful care they provided her and also to her long time friend and doctor, Plutarco Castellanos who was always there whenever she or her family called.
Her funeral service and burial will be private as she wished. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KZ 66675.
