Gene A. Bottoni

March 12, 1951 — October 21, 2020

SHREWSBURY-Gene A. Bottoni, Jr., 69, formerly of Washington, D.C. and Punta Gorda, FL passed away Wednesday, October 21 in the Benchmark Assisted Living Center.

He leaves his sister, Mary E. Goldschmidt of Worcester; a brother, Jon W. Bottoni of Westfield; six nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, William, Eric, Jennifer, Jacqueline and Jon, Jr. and his beloved cat, Peggy. A brother, Peter E. Beatty predeceased him. He was born in Springfield, son of Gene A. and Mary V. (Smith) Bottoni and graduated from, Putnam Vocational High School and the Atlanta Art Insitute He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the U.S.S. Intrepid.

Gene was a photographer for the Federal Government. In his retirement, Gene enjoyed movies, especially John Wayne classics. He was a lifelong Alamo history buff and enjoyed photography and collecting antique toys.

The family would like to thank the staff at Benchmark for their wonderful care and compassion during Gene's time there.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the Agawam Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veteran Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, 01605.
