WORCESTER-George J. Collins, 64, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, January 6 in St. Vincent Hospital.
George is survived by his partner of 31 years, Traci Fearing; three brothers, Larry M. Collins, Thomas M. Collins, and Wade K. Collins all of Worcester; a sister, Diane E. Wise, wife of the late Garry Wise of Tacoma, WA; seven nieces and nephews, Cara M. Collins, Chad M. Wise, Lauren M. (Collins) Hayes, Jarad M. Wise, Timothy M. Collins and twins, Brittni E. Wise, and Briana K. (Wise) DeWolfe; twelve great nieces and nephews and Anthony M. Russo who was like a son and was a special part of George and Traci's life. He is predeceased by his father George L. Collins in December of 2013 and his mother, Elizabeth M. (Gelinas) Collins in January of this year.
George was born in Worcester, lived in Dayton, Ohio for years, then moved back to Worcester. He graduated from Boys Trade School in Drafting, class of 1974. George served in the United States Air Force, enlisting at the age of 17, working as a communications specialist. He worked for the Rail Road as an engineer like his father and grandfather before him for thirty-two years. George favorite past-time was his daily coffee meetings with his friends.
Out an abundance of caution during Covid-19, George's graveside service will be held in the future at a time to be announced when it is deemed safe for family and friends to gather to Celebrate His Life.
