WORCESTER-George A. Fox, III. of Worcester, MA, passed away May 13, 2021 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after a chronic illness. He was 65. George was born in Holden, MA, the youngest child of George A. Fox, Jr. and Frances (Noonan) Fox.
He attended Worcester and Holden public schools. When he was young he was able to take radios and televisions apart and put them back together again, which showed he had special skills, but he had a mind that was always on a different and solitary path. He did work as an electrician's apprentice and then on his own for a number of years until his illness progressed and prevented him from continuing. He enjoyed going to his favorite doughnut shop each morning to have coffee with friends.
He was an inveterate jokester. Everyone knew him because his favorite greeting was, "Hey…..Did you hear the one about……?"
He was pre-deceased by his parents. He leaves two sisters, Norma and Joan, as well as his best friend and companion of many years, Joyce Tolson of Worcester.
There are no services. Interment will be private. Callahan Fay and Caswell is handling the arrangements. Since George was an animal lover, a donation may be made to an animal shelter or refuge of choice. He would love to be remembered that way.
