WORCESTER- George K. Frankian, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 27 in Austin, TX.
His wife of 58 years, Mary (Naroian) Frankian died in 2012. He leaves two children, Charles Frankian, and his wife, Marnie, of Northborough; a daughter, Karen Aroian, and her husband, Mihran, of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Hasmig and Ani Aroian and William and Samuel Frankian; many nieces and nephews. His four siblings, Catherine Bedigian, Jacob, Michael, and Harry Frankian predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Giragos and Marriam (Danielian) Frankian, and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
In 1957, George received his plumber's journeymen license, joined Plumbers Local #4, and was a master plumber for many years. George served on many union committees and as financial secretary-treasurer.
George was an active member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, its men's club, and on many committees. He served on the Board of Trustees as treasurer, chair, and vice chair. He held memberships in the Grafton Hill American Legion, the Greendale Retired Men's Club, the Friends of Hope Cemetery, Atlestan Masonic Lodge, and Scottish Rite.
The family extends special thanks to beloved friends Deb Torti, Byron Morris, and Tommy Gisi, church friends, and his medical teams in Worcester and Austin.
