George C. Gardner

April 30, 1925 — September 7, 2007

GLOUCESTER/CLINTON-George G. Gardner, Sr. 82 of Gloucester formerly of Clinton passed away Fri., Sept. 7 at Addison Gilbert Hospital after an illness. He leaves his loving wife of 30 years, Beverly (Wendler) Jankowski Gardner; his children, George G. Gardner, Jr. of Clinton, Judith, wife of Richard Casasanto of Clinton, Patricia Fawcett of Visalia, CA and a son-in-law, Paul Guerrini of Orlando, FL; his step children, Donna wife of Dennis Amero of Gloucester, James M. Jankowski of Clinton and Richard D. Jankowski of Whitesboro, NY; three sisters, Elaine wife of Warren Huntoon of Sterling, Janet wife of Laurence Consiglio of Largo, FL, Naureen wife of Vic Jonasson of Houston, TX and his sister-in-law, Barbara Gardner of Millbury; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Kathleen Guerrini and his brother, Thomas A. Gardner predeceased him.

He was born in Claremont, NH the son of the late George N. and Mary J. (Bourgoine) Gardner. George came to West Boylston in the early 1930's where he graduated from Major Edwards High School in 1943. After graduation he entered the U. S. Army Air Corp. where he earned his wings as a 2nd Lt. and flew B-24's and B-25's. After the war he worked for Miron Mills and ITT Suprenant in Clinton for many years. In 1975 he relocated to Connecticut and worked at the former Brand-Rex Wire and Cable Co. in Willimantic as a process engineer until his retirement in 1990. Besides his family and friends, George loved flying, golfing and his 1937 Harley. He was a kind and loving gentleman and to know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed.

A visiting hour for George will be held Monday, Sept. 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Interment will be in Mt Vernon Cemetery, W. Boylston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 715 Albany St., Suite C329, Boston, MA 02118 or to a Charity of One's Choice.
