WORCESTER-George A. Lindberg, Jr., 93, passed away Monday, September 29th at Knollwood Nursing Center after a brief illness. George leaves his wife of 68 years, Wylma L. (Martin) Lindberg; his daughter, Nancy L. Belville and her husband Robert of Morganton, NC; two sons, George A. Lindberg, III and his wife Frances of Pemaquid, ME and Kenneth P. Lindberg and his wife Judith Schultz of Gilford, NH; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
George was born in Worcester the son of George A. and Hilda (Skogsberg) Lindberg. He graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College. George was a Navy veteran of WW II, serving in the South Pacific. George was an engineer at Norton Company for 43 years retiring in 1982. George was an active member of the Church of Christ and Greendale Men's Club and Chorus. He was a dedicated family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
A visiting hour for George will be held on Saturday, October 4th from 9:00 to 10:00 am immediately followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. Inurnment will be in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gander Brook Christian Camp, P.O. Box 1423, Littleton, MA 01460.
