George Migridichian

January 31, 1931 — April 26, 2017

WORCESTER- George Migridichian, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2017.He was born in Hartford, CT on January 31, 1931, the son of Armenian genocide survivors, the late Minas and Nazig (Hougasian) Mgrdichian. He was raised in Worcester where he graduated from Classical High School in 1948 and from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a registered professional engineer. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he was employed with U.S. Steel Company and then Mass Electric as an Electrical Engineer for over 34 years.

He was a long time devoted member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour where he served as former chairman of the Parish Council. He was a member of the Greendale Men's Club, Masonic Order of Athelstan and The Armenian American Veterans. He enjoyed his summer home in West Falmouth with his family and friends. His pleasures included biking, bowling, golfing and salt water fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sylvia Arpy (Harootian) Migridichian; three sons, Steven Migridichian and his wife, Deborah of Shrewsbury, and their three children, Steven, Taline and Seta; Gregg Migridichian of Worcester, and his three sons, Michael G, Anthony G, and Eric G and Darrin Migridichian of Worcester; a sister, Dolores Garabedian of Dracut; a brother-in-law, Armen Harootian and his wife, Pauline of Reading; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00AM in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester. Visiting hours will precede from 9:30AM until 11:00AM in the church. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
