George R. Niemi

WORCESTER- George R. Niemi, 78, died Monday, October 29, 2018. He was born in Worcester, son of the late William O. and Sophia M. (Metercovis) Niemi. George lived on Gibbs Street in the Quinsigamond Village area for most of his life.

He is survived by his brother William J. Niemi, Sr. of Webster and two nieces, Donna M. Serwa and Deborah J. Messier, both of Oxford. A nephew, William J. Niemi, Jr., predeceased him.

George enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley and testing his luck with scratch tickets. He loved dogs and in earlier years he enjoyed his visits with his nieces wonderful dogs, Jake, Sadie and Snickers.

Funeral Services to honor George's life are Friday, November 2nd at Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street. A visiting hour will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am immediately followed by a service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
