Gerald C. Hendrickson, 87, died in his home Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, after courageously battling health complications following a stroke. He was cared for and surrounded by his loving family during his illness and passing. “Gerry” is survived by his wife, Anita A. (Pelerin) Hendrickson; his daughter, Lisa J. (Hendrickson) Gardner; his brother, Russel Hendrickson and his wife, Elenor; grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded by his mother, father, and his older brother, Donald Hendrickson.
Gerry was born on July 6th, 1937, in Worcester to his parents, Carl and Dagmar (Walstrom) Hendrickson. He lived his entire life in the Granite Street area of Worcester along with his parents and his wife. After graduating from Commerce High School in 1955, Gerry spent his career working as an administrative leader for Norton Company, in Worcester, which later became St. Gobain. He was admired and relied on by many during his 45 years of service between September 6th,1955 and January 1st, 2000.
Growing up, Gerry enjoyed spending his summers at his family camp in East Douglas where he loved to fish. He enjoyed cooking in his basement, carving fishing lures, fishing, watching sports, and collecting pottery. He was a devoted husband who loved to spend time fiddling with his carving projects and enjoying classic country music and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Gerry's name to the Emanual Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St, Worcester, MA 01607.
All are invited to a celebration of Gerry’s life with a visiting hour Friday, November 15th from 9-10am at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. A service will begin at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
