WORCESTER-Gerald I. Kheboian, 88, of Worcester passed away Friday, November 30 in St. Vincent Hospital.
His wife of 48 years, Grace (Adjeleian) Kheboian died in 2002. He leaves two children, Paul G. Kheboian and his wife, Beth of Worcester and Ann Benton of Wadmalaw Island, SC; six grandchildren, Sara, Stephen, Daniel, Alison, Gregory and Alexandra; a son-in-law, David E. Howard of Concord, NH; a sister, Beverly Ann Dean and nieces and nephews. A daughter, Carolyn K. Howard and a brother, Charles Kheboian predeceased him. He was born in Bronx, NY son of Megrdich and Nevart (Maghakian) Kheboian and graduated from Commerce High School. He then received his bachelor's degree from the Wentworth Institute and his associate's degree from Clark University. Gerald also proudly served on the USS Snowden DE246 in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Jerry began his career working at Metko Paper Box Company and then became Senior Project Manager at Rice Barton Corp. for 15 years. He would retire from Polaroid Corporation after 20 years as a Technical Manager of the Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Department. In his retirement, he owned and operated Kheboian Consulting Company, specializing in web transplant machinery and control drives. He also organized seminars, industrial shows and worked part-time at Electro-Drives Company.
He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and past church council member. Jerry was also involved with several national electrical engineer committees and associations, which he received several merit awards from. He was a member of the Guiding Light Lodge of Mason. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening and enameling.
The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 6 at 11am in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Visiting Hours are from 5 to 7pm Wednesday, December 5 in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
