WORCESTER-Geraldine (Casey) Provencher, 90, formerly of 101 Chadwick Street, died Friday, May 5 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband, Wilfred O. Provencher died in 1958. She leaves a son, Dr. Stephen W. Provencher in Canada, a daughter, Claire M. Weirich of Worcester, a sister, Sr. Mary Joachim Casey of the Sisters of Mercy, Worcester; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nieces nephews. Four brothers, William, Bernard, Jean and James and a sister, Agnes Chase, predeceased him. She was born in Lowell, daughter of William J. and Eugenie M. (Laforge) Casey, graduated from Sutton High School and Becker Junior College.

Mrs. Provencher was an office clerk at the Occupational Training Center and other area businesses for many years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Paul and a volunteer for American Red Cross.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 9, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 9:00 AM in the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be Monday, May 8 from 5-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, the Sisters of Mercy, 101 Barry Rd.
