West Boylston
Gladys L. (Rankin) Burke, 88, of 7 Westland Cir., died Tuesday, March 19, in her home after an illness.
Her husband Dennis Burke died in 1973. She leaves two sons, Richard J. Burke of West Boylston and Arnold D. Burke of Scottville, Mich; three daughters Marilyn Trecartin of Groton, Barbara A. Carpenter of Shrewsbury and Ellen B. Daley of Manchester, CT; 11 grand chlidren, 18 great grand children. A son Robert C. Burke of Framingham died in 1965 and a great grandson Adam Trecartin of Dunstable died in 1990. She was born in Lynn, daughter of Harold and Ella (Maag) Rankin.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and a former member of it's Woman's Club, a member, secretary and treasurer of the Golden Age Bowling League at the Auburn, MA; Ten Pin, a member of the Woman's Auxiliary, Harold N. Kieth Post %23 204.She was a volunteer at the Worcester County Extension Service.
A Memorial Mass will be Held Friday, March 22, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn, MA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be may to West Boylston High School Scholarship Fund 125 Crescent St. West Boylston, MA 01583.
