Gohar Hagopian

Worcester

Gohar Hagopian left her earthly family to join our Heavenly Father on May 20, 2022. She was born on December 6, 2000. The world lost a beautiful human being who touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her innocence and heartwarming smile. Gohar means jewel in Armenian, and she was indeed a jewel that brought beauty and joy into all of our lives.

Gohar’s family extends their special thanks to the entire staff at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric pulmonology, Pediatric GI and UMass Family Medicine at UMass University Campus for their care and support of Gohar during the past 18 years. Special thanks also go to FamilyLIVES Shriver Nursing Services, with particular gratitude to Jackelyn Howe and Kathy Trainor.

She leaves behind her beloved parents, Hagop Hagopian and Veronika Tovanyan, and beloved brother, Armen Hagopian. Gohar is also survived by many beloved family members. These include on the paternal side: her uncle Sarkis Hagopian, his wife, Ripsik Hagopian, their daughters Lusine Baghsarian (with husband Armen Baghsarian, children Jivan, Aram and Vana) and Ani Hagopian (with daughter Meline); and aunt Arusyak Adzhi-Akopyan, her daughter Anna Kazanchyan MD (with daughter Mariam) and son Vahe Kazanchian (with wife Anna Avagyan, children Sofie and Maneh). On the maternal side, she leaves her grandfather Andranik Tovanyan and grandmother Tamara Khachatryan, and their children Hasmik Tovanyan (with husband Andy Sefayan, children Alex, Arthur and Andrew) and Haroot Tovanyan (with wife Seda Altounian, children Ava and Daron).

A celebration of Gohar’s life will be held with visiting hours on Wednesday, May 25th from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
