Gordon P. White

WEST BOYLSTON-Gordon P. White, 84, formerly of Prescott St. passed away Wednesday, March 10th at Oakdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 48 years, Gertrude M. (Peterson) White died in 1998. He leaves a daughter, Pamela J. wife of Bruce Bjorklund of West Boylston and a son, Jeff husband of Dianne (Erickson) White of Shrewsbury; 2 grandsons, Brian and Kevin Bjorklund of West Boylston and a special friend and sister-in-law, Phyllis E. White of Leicester. A brother, Alden White, and a sister, Lois E. (White) Kennison predeceased him.

Mr. White was born in Worcester son of Percival A. and Florence Edna (Squires) White. He graduated from Worcester Schools and the Embry Riddle School of Aviation in Miami, FL. He served with the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and it's Massachusetts Chapter, the Eighth Air Force B.A.D. Association and the 96th Bomb Group Association.

Mr. White worked at Heald Machine Company before and after World War II and also the Rice Barton Corporation where he was the Quality Control Manager. He retired from Thermo Electron Web Systems (formerly Lodding Engineering) where he held the position of Internal Sales Manager and Quality Control Manager. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Roger Williams Family Association an 11th generation descendant. He was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1956 with the call sign of KIEDD. In his high school years, he designed and built many flying model airplanes including gasoline powered engine model planes.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 13th at 3:00 PM in the First Congregational Church, 26 Central St., West Boylston. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
