Grace M. McDonough, 76, of Worcester passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Hargadon) McDonough. From the age of 22, Grace attended programs at the Seven Hills Foundation, in the sheltered worship program when she was young and later in the adult day program. She loved going there. Her years at Seven Hills gave direction and purpose to her life. Grace also enjoyed cookouts, sing-a-longs, the beach, and the Thursday night activities at Seven Hills.
Grace is survived by her sisters, Marie Travers of Cotuit and Anna McDonough of Worcester, with whom she lived. She also leaves four nephews and a niece: Herbert F. Travers, III of Shrewsbury; Michael B. Travers and his wife, Teresa of Auburn; James C. Travers and his wife, Maureen of Boston; Jeffrey T. Travers and his wife, Sherri of Sutton; and Jennifer Edwards and her husband, John of Marstons Mills. In addition, Grace leaves six great-nephews and three great-nieces.
Grace's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Notre Dame Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to her.
Family and friends are invited to gather with Grace's family on Friday, September 14th from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 15th at 10:00am at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester (PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH). Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
