WORCESTER-Grace E. (Anderson) Murphy, 96, formerly of 1050 Main St. died Tues., Dec. 19 at the St. Francis Home.
Her husband, Walter G. Murphy died in 1967. She leaves two sons, Kenneth J. and his wife Anita Murphy and Donald W. and his wife Marjorie Murphy both of Auburn; five grandchildren; Sharon Murphy of Spencer, James Murphy of Middlefield, CT, Donna Hebert of Southbridge, Mary Elizabeth Coakley of Leominster and Kathleen McGrath of Auburn; twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She also leaves a cousin, Shirley Lariviere of Auburn; a Godchild, Mary Beth Young of Auburn, a friend and caregiver, Florence Cronin of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Florence Anderson predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Theodore and Rose (Reynolds) Anderson and lived here all her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Church for over 70 years and belonged to the Guild of Our Lady Queen of Peace. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with her family.
The funeral will be Friday, December 21 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. The Most Rev. Bishop George E. Rueger will be concelebrating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
