Leicester-Gregory R. Gaumond 60, passed away from natural causes on Monday, April 1 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his father, John F. Gaumond and his wife, Judith of Worcester; six siblings, Leslye M. Edwards of Virginia, Dana E. McLaughlin of Oxford, Tracy A. Raphaelson of Michigan, Julie M. Gaumond of West Virginia, Scott G. Gaumond of Virginia and Pete Gaumond of East Brookfield; two treasured children, Katherine Shtudiner of Worcester and Michael Shtudiner of Leicester; nieces and nephews and many cousins. His mother, Martha M. "Penny" Gaumond predeceased him. He was born in Worcester and attended West Boylston and Worcester public schools and graduated from the Massachusetts Special State Police Training Academy.
Greg was a sergeant for 32 years, at the former Becker College Campuses and also worked as an Appointed Police Officer for the Town of Leicester. After Becker College's closing, he worked at the Jewish Healthcare Center. Greg enjoyed winter sports, especially skiing and snowmobiling. He also loved his dogs and going to flea markets, but his favorite thing to do was to spend the majority of his time helping others in need.
Visiting Hours are Sunday, April 7, from 2 to 5pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St. West Boylston. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, April 8 at 11:30am in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester.
