AUBURN-H. Stanley Peterson, 91, passed away Sunday, October 25. His wife of 64 years, Ruth M. (Gullbrand) Peterson passed away in 2008. He leaves two children, Dean and his wife, Amy E. Peterson of Millbury and Donna R. and her husband, Michael Michelson of Worcester; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nices and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, C. Raymond Peterson.

He was born in Worcester the son of Harry P. and Enez J. (Lindstrom) Peterson and graduated from Commerce High School and Becker Junior College. Mr Peterson was a WW II Army Air Corp veteran and spent 36 years with the Air Force retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. At one time he served as the Commander of the Worcester Recovery Squadron of the Strategic Air Command in Worcester. He was also Superintendant of Old and New Swedish Cemetery for 35 years retiring in 1983. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 318, 32nd Degree Mason of the Morningstar Lodge, a member of the Shriners and Past President of the New England Cemetery Association.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Special Unit at Eddy Pond for the wonderful care given to Stanley during his time there.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, October 28 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St. with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St., Worcester, MA 01607.
