Harriett Belle (Hubbard) Vernon, 88, of Waquoit died at Falmouth Hospital on April 2, 2007 with her family by her side.

She is survived be her four children, Dorothy B. Morse, Marianne Morse Callahan, Dale E. Vernon and Paul H. Vernon; stepsons, Kirk and Charles Vernon; a brother, Dr. Edwin L. Hubbard of Dudley, MA; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph K. and Gladys B. Hubbard of Webster, MA, her husband, Dr. Hollis Vernon and a sister, Dorothy (Hubbard) Pedersen.

Harriet graduated from Bartlett High School in 1935, Bradford Junior College in 1937, and attended the American Academy for Dramatic Arts in New York City.

Private burial was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in Corbin Cemetery in Dudley, MA. Donations may be made to the Chester C. Corbin Library, 2 Lake St. Webster, 01570. Care of the Children's Room Foundation in honor of her daughter, Dorothy B. Morse. Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester is handling the arrangements.
