Hazel (Bachant) Devlin, 92, of Westland St. died Saturday, April 22 surrounded by her family.
Her husband, James V. Devlin, Sr. died in 1989. She is survived by her son, James V. Devlin, Jr.; six daughters, Maureen A. Grudoff, Patricia A. Esposito, Mary Ellen Devlin, Kathleen J. Devlin-Bombard and Christina E. Marlborough all of Worcester; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, William J. Devlin, a sister, Irene Lynch and a brother, William Bachant all predeceased her.
She was born in Jaffrey, NH the daughter of Peter and Matilda (Buckwald) Bachant and lived in Worcester most of her life. She worked as a clerk for over 20 years at Towne & Country Cleaners and retired from Rossi’s Cleaners at age 80. Hazel was a very giving person who donated to many charitable organizations.
The funeral will be Wednesday, April 26 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham St. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 25 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Home Health and Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.
