WORCESTER/MARBLEHEAD-Hedwig M. (Zawistowski) Larson, 99, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at her daughter's home in Marblehead.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zambrzycki) Zawistowski and graduated from Commerce High School. Hedwig was a lifelong resident of Worcester until moving to Marblehead to be with her daughter. She was a founding member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church and most recently a parishioner at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Hedwig enjoyed her annual family camping trips and her monthly get together with her long time friends of the "Yakkity-Yak Club".
Her husband of 67 years, Earl R. Larson, Sr. predeceased her on August 19, 2010. She is survived by four children, Earl R. Larson, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Northborough, Paul R. Larson and his wife Sheri of Wasilla, Alaska, Anne Walker and her husband Jonathan Tilton of Marblehead and Evelyn M. Rose and her husband Courtice of Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada. She also leaves many beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, a brother, Chester Zawistowski of Millbury and many nephews and nieces.
Hedwig was predeceased by three sisters, Genevieve Zawistowski, Helen Kroll and Sr. Mary Evelyn Zawistowski and three brothers, Stanley, Walter and Joseph Zawistowski.
All are invited to gather at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street, Worcester to celebrate Hedwig's Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 15th. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
