Helen S. Benoit

May 20, 1922 — April 27, 2010

WORCESTER-Helen S. (Prouty) Benoit, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 27.

Her husband, Navy veteran, Edward H. Benoit, Jr. died March 17, 1966. She leaves behind six adoring children, Cynthia Creamer of Pennsylvania, Myrna L. Plant, Rena I. Doyle, Arthur E. Benoit, U.S. Army veteran all of Worcester, Denise Rizzuto of Florida and Brenda Buron of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She also leaves her beloved sister whom she loved dearly, Elizabeth West of Grafton and Nancy Vizzonis of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews with whom she touched everyone of their lives in some way. She also got great comfort in her two cats Jinger and Baby, which will be adopted by her daughter, Myrna L. Plant.

She was born in Millbridge, ME the daughter of Raymond H. and Florence M. (Burke) Prouty.

She touched everyone's heart and her goal in life was to take care and nurture her entire family. The stars in her eyes were not only her six children but they got brighter when she saw her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will forever hold her in our hearts and she will be greatly missed.

The family's heartfelt thank you goes to the staff at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus and the UMass visiting nursing staff.

Funeral services and interment are private. Arrangements are under the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to Massachusetts Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
