WORCESTER-Helen F. (Maloney) Flury, 75, of 23 Ward Street, passed away Thursday, December 15 in Autumn Village Nursing Home. She leaves two daughters, MaryEllen Flury of Worcester and Kathleen H. Palmer of Jacksonville, FL, a son, Robert M. Flury and his wife Joanie of Sumter, SC, six grandchildren, Kellie Flury, Nicole Brinkley, Neil Palmer, Jill Kennedy, Erin and Michael Flury; four great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister Margaret A. "Patsy" Paulauskas. Her former husband was Worcester Police Officer Robert W. Flury who died in 1981.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of William C. and Margaret (Heagney) Maloney. She lived in Worcester all of her life, attended Commerce High School and was a former member of St. Stephen's Church. Before she retired, Helen worked for Home Staff for many years and provided dedicated and caring service to many elderly and frail clients in Worcester. Lovingly known as "Nana" she was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family.
The funeral will be Tuesday, December 20 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, December 19 from 5 until 7 PM in the funeral home.
