Helen M. (Johnson) Kallio 84, of 59 Evelyn St. died Thursday, Dec. 2, in the University Commons.

Her husband of 55 years, Tauno M. Kallio died in 1996. She leaves two sons, Donald M. and his former wife Elaine of Providence, RI and Wayne A. and his wife Tammy of Worcester; a brother, Francis E. Johnson of West Boylston; six grandchildren, Don and his wife Jen Kallio, Laura and her husband Kerry Joyce, Erica Kallio, Karen Kallio Mulhern, Wayne Kallio, and Matthew Kallio and four great-grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Fritz E. and Mary A. (Hurley) Johnson and graduated from Classical High School and David Hale Fanning School and attended Framingham State College.

Helen was a licensed practical nurse at the Providence House Nursing Home in Worcester. She was a member St. Catherine of Sweden Church. She enjoyed playing bingo at Greendale Gardens and at her church.

A Funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, from LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A Calling Hour will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to UMASS-Memorial Foundation, 15 Belmont St/ 1 Lincoln Sq. Worcester, 01605.
