Helen I. (Sullivan) Loftus, 93, formerly of 49 Pleasant Valley Dr., died Saturday, September 24 in the Holy Trinity Nursing Home.
Her husband, William P. Loftus, Sr. died in 1960. She leaves a son, William P. Loftus, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and a daughter, Eileen M. and her husband William F. Ryan, Jr. of Harwich; eight grandchildren and their spouses, William P. Loftus, III and his wife Norma Jean of Woodstock, CT; John and Ursula Loftus of Worcester; Timothy and Marie Loftus of Grafton: Kathleen T. and Anthony Minucci of Ashland; Kristen A. and Mark Hibbert of Stanford, CT; William F. Ryan III and his wife Maureen of Chevy Chase, MD: Marylou and John Murphy of Falmouth, ME., and Jennifer and Timothy Gula of Harwich.; 14 great grandchildren; Tara, Lena, Kaila, Marie Minucci, Caroline and Will Loftus, Emily and Timothy Loftus, Noreena and John Josef Loftus, Aidan, Connor and Allison Murphy and Sara Ryan. She was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa Sullivan and Josephine Flynn and three brothers, Theodore and Worcester Police Officers, Cornelius F. and John J. Sullivan.
She was born in Worcester daughter of Patrick J. and Ellen M. (Sullivan) Sullivan and worked at the Mechanics National Bank for several years.
Mrs. Loftus’s funeral will be Monday, September 26, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, September 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matthew 25, 52 Queen St., Worcester, MA 01610.
