WORCESTER - Helen T. (Terry) Mahoney, 104, passed away in her home with family present on November 22, 2017, 18 years after her beloved husband John P. Mahoney. She leaves her nieces, Eileen M. McCarthy of Worcester, Mary Ellen McCarthy of Arlington, VA, Anne R. Higa and her husband Michael of Aiea, HI and her nephew, Timothy F. McCarthy and his wife Maureen of Walpole, MA. She also leaves grandnieces Erin, Molly, and Sheila and grandnephews Brian, Kevin and Brendan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Rita A. (Terry McCarthy), Mary F., James, Josephine, P. Joseph and John Terry.

Helen was born on December 22, 1912, in Worcester, the daughter of Patrick and Nora (Kett) Terry. She graduated from Commerce High School. To further her artistic talents she also took classes at the Worcester Art Museum. She worked in the Worcester County Probate Court prior to her marriage and later worked as a typist, bookkeeper and legal secretary for local firms. During her younger years she was an active member and officer in a number of Catholic organizations, including the Carroll Club, the Medallion Club, the Tuesday Luncheon Club and the Guild of Our Lady of Providence. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Church.

The family would like to thank all those who enabled Helen to enjoy and celebrate her 100th birthday party in 2012. They are particularly grateful to all those whose support and care helped her to remain in her home until her death, including Dr. Shubhada Javlekar, Dr. Dennis Maki, Dr. Kevin Martin, Ellen Cronin, Marianne Ferrante, Mary Beth O'Neil, Jackie Mushinsky, Linda Dube, the staff of Independence Health Care and the staff of VNA Care.

Visiting Hours are Tuesday, November 28 from 9:00 to 10:30AM at CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street with a Mass at 11:00AM in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Daily Mass or St. Stephen's Church.
