WORCESTER-Helen E. Sullivan, daughter of John P. and Julia A. (Sullivan) Sullivan, who emigrated from County Kerry, Ireland died on Saturday, November 3.
Helen was born in Worcester and resided here her entire life. She was predeceased by brothers, James P., Francis P. and John F. who died at six months, and her sister, Mary Ann who died at nine years of age. She leaves a niece, Patricia C. Bothner of Durham, NH and several cousins in Ireland.
She was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended Salter Secretarial School. Many years ago, she was named "Secretary of the Year" by the Worcester Chapter of the National Secretaries Assoc. of which she was a member.
Helen was employed by the Mass. Electrical Company for 51 years. She had worked in various departments of the Company and retired from the Human Resource Department.
Helen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, The Guild of Our Lady of Providence, The Friday Afternoon Club, Opera Worcester, The Music Guild, The Bancroft Chapter of the AARP, The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Worcester Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, theatre, shopping, traveling and the latest fashions.
A Visiting Hour will be held Wednesday, November 7 from 8:30 to 9:30am at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. followed by A Funeral Mass at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, 19 Temple St., Worcester, 01604.
