Helga H. (Marteken) Helander 82 formerly of West Boylston, died Tuesday, May 25, in the American-Finnish Nursing Center, Lake Worth, FL.
She leaves a son, Roy Helander of Laguna Beach, CA. A son John Helander, predeceased her. She was born in Valtimo, Finland, daughter of Lauri and Leena Marteken.
Mrs. Helander worked for Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for several years before retiring. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a longtime resident of West Boylston, moving to Florida recently.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 28, at 1 p.m. in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. is directing arrangements.(faybrothers.com)
