OXFORD – Howard A. "Howie" Pajala, 54, died peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.
He was born and raised in Worcester, a son of the late Arnie H. and Ruth M. (Norrman) Pajala. Howie graduated from North High School and entered the workforce. He spent the last year as a quality control inspector for Loos & Company in Pomfret, CT. Previously, Howie was employed for 30 years Tyco Industries Wire & Cable Division in Worcester. An avid musician, Howie was a talented piano, guitar and ukulele musician, and enjoyed playing with several bands through the years. While with his family, Howie enjoyed spending time outdoors, either camping or participating in one of his favorite pastimes, Geocaching throughout the area. He was a member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
He leaves his loving wife of the past three years, Virginia S (Sprague) Pajala; his two sons, Alec R. and Nathan H. Pajala, both of Oxford; his step son, Michael S. Warren of Oxford; his brother, Eric S. Pajala of Milford and Lilly V. Mullen and her husband, Daniel of Auburn; his nephew, Kristopher Pajala, with whom he shared a special bond; as well as several other nieces, nephews and his beloved cat, Tiger. Howie's family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital who cared for him in his final days, as well as the American Red Cross for the assistance.
Please join Howie's family and friends during his Life Celebration visiting hours on Friday, November 16th from 5-7 p.m. at Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. A service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
